23 Weeks!

Jared and I took our hospital tour this past weekend, it was pretty cool to get to see everything! There were about 4 other couples in our group and I was the only one that said I wanted to have a natural child birth. The nurse doing the tour showed us the room for natural births and there was a tub in there, I thought Jared was going to pass out at the idea of having a water baby. Come to find out the tub is used for pain management, not for birthing babies ;). hahah jokes on us! I was telling my Dr about it on Tuesday at my 23 wk check up and she started laughing and said if you want to have a water baby you will be birthing that baby by yourself and handing it to me, I am NOT getting in that tub with you! hahaha I really like my Dr and apparently so do lots of others, all the other couples on the tour with us go to my Dr. While we were at the hospital we checked out the gift shop, they have some really cute stuff in there... and Jared picked out Olivia's first head band (so cute! and i am sure none of you will be surprised that it is maroon)!

My 23 wk check up went great! I go back in 4 weeks (end of June) for my 27 wk check up and glucose test, then I will start going to the Dr every two weeks. Wow time is REALLY going by fast!!

We bought Olivia her first pair of crocs last night, they are so tiny and cute!! I can't wait to see her in them!

Baby Moore is a....

On May 2nd, Jared and I got to see our little peanut!! Peanut is a wiggly little thing! When the sonogram lady (Rebecca) started peanut's head was on my left side, once Rebecca was done looking around at peanut's living space she went back to the left side to start showing us everything from head to toe only to find out peanut's feet were now on my left side. It probably didn't help that I had sweet tea at lunch (oops)! Anyways our little peanut finally moved into the perfect position for us to determine if peanut is a he or a she...
The view of the picture above is as if she is sitting on a glass table and you are looking up from underneath. No little boy parts poking out from between her legs ;) hahaha! Rebecca was able to take a few measurements and determine that she is weighing 12 oz, and is in the 54th percentile. I have to go back next week, since she was so wiggly there were a few organs Rebecca could not get a good picture of for the Dr. She did assure us that she is perfectly healthy and growing like crazy! We got to see all four chambers of her heart and saw them functioning, and Jared got to hear her heartbeat for the first time.

So here we have Ms. Olivia Anne :). She already looks so sweet! She kept trying to suck her thumb and was getting frustrated with Rebecca pushing around on her. She is already sassy too, if the band on my pants is pushing on her she will push right back until I adjust the band! Sounds like Jared and I are going to have our hands full.

The Gender Reveal Party Saturday night was so fun! The cupcakes were so yummy!! We really appreciate all the family and friends that were able to join us!

                         It's a GIRL!!!!

A while back I bought an iron on for a t-shirt and the saying works for a boy or a girl "Daddy's getting a new fishing buddy". I knew that if it was a boy I would just leave the iron on as is, but seeing as though it is a girl I had to bling it up and make it girly! After we revealed that we were having a girl I changed into my new shirt and i love it!! I added a pink bow to the fish and put glitter on a few of the words... I will have to see if I can find a better picture of the shirt :).

Not too much has changed in the last week, here are my answers though :)

How far along? 20 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  -12 lbs
Maternity clothes? 1 pair of maternity jeans but still getting by with just a belly band and my reg jeans!
Stretch marks? No new ones ;) had some before I got pregnant.
Sleep: Sleep is good most nights, still trying to get used to only being able to sleep on my sides
Best moment this week: I am at the halfway mark!! Woohoo!
Miss Anything? A yummy Shiner or two... or three. and Sushi!!!
Movement: lots more movement this week
Food cravings: candy (not chocolate, sweets like Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, Sweet Tarts), Burgers, and spicy food like hot wings/buffalo chicken sandwiches
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing really
Have you started to show yet: a little
Gender: GIRL!! (the old wives tale about heart rates was correct for me, and so was the Chinese Gender Calendar!)
Labor Signs: No, goodness I hope not!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: another ultra sound next week :)

19 weeks and counting...

So for those of you that don't know... Jared and I are expecting our first bundle of joy Sept. 2012. I know! I know! We were going to wait 2 years after we got married (we just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary April 9th) to start trying to have kids... well folks God had another plan in mind for us, and who are we to question God's will? :) So, we are super excited (Jared is excited and nervous) and can't wait for this new adventure to begin. Well technically it has already begun, some days its still hard to believe I am pregnant. Especially since I am not really showing that much and the baby is just now starting to get more active.

I saw a blog the other day and she documented her pregnancy week by week with fun pictures and answered questions you can check her blog out here (http://littlebabygarvin.blogspot.com/), I was inspired to start my blog back up and keep y'all posted about our progress! I will try to be good about post weekly so you can follow along with our journey. I can't always promise there will be a fun picture like hers :).

Here is what I can share so far to catch you up...
So back in January there were a few days when I just wasn't feeling right, I thought maybe I had a weird hangover from my cousin's rehearsal dinner and wedding. I thought my sudden aversion to bacon was a little odd but maybe just b/c I had been drinking. When the so-called "hangover" didn't go away by mid-week and I started getting these weird cramps I thought hmmm maybe I should do a little research. Being the Google queen I Googled a few things I was experiencing and everything kept coming back as possible pregnancy side effect. I thought nah it can't be, but I took a test just to be sure... and WOW was I surprised when after three minutes the screen on the test said Pregnant. So I thought well it could be a false positive so I showed Jared (his reaction was a little stunned!) and I told him I was going to get more tests. Sure enough three tests later they all said the same thing... Positive!

So I made an appointment with my Dr. right away and at the first appointment they just confirmed that I really was pregnant and took some blood, at the second appointment Jared and I got to see our little Peanut for the first time! It was such a neat experience, we got the see the little heart fluttering it was still too little to hear the heart beat at this point but just to see it pumping away was so cool!

We told our families and swore them to secrecy! We wanted to wait till the10-12 week mark to tell all our friends... that didn't happen though! We were just too excited and wanted to share our excitement with everyone! We got the boys (Rocky and Shiner) to help us announce it to the Facebook world! As you can tell they were a little less thrilled about it as we were. Shiner kept wanting to pick up the baby socks! I think the announcement turned out pretty cute though!
My first trimester was super easy, no morning sickness only some afternoon nausea. Never threw up, was tired a lot but that is to be expected.
Tomorrow Jared and I find out if we are having a boy or a girl :). I cannot wait!!! Everyone keeps asking me what I think/want to have, some days I really want a girl and other days I want a boy... in the end I will be happy with just a healthy baby no matter what God provides us! If we go by the old wives tale of the heart rate we are having a GIRL b/c Peanuts heart rate has been over 150 both times I have heard it. Jared and I will keep the sex of the baby our little secret for a few days b/c we are having a Gender Reveal Party or Sex Party as it has been nicknamed on Saturday for our families!

How far along? 19 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Since the beginning of the pregnancy I lost 16 pounds and as of yesterday I gained back 4 so we are at a -12 lbs
Maternity clothes? 1 pair of maternity jeans but still getting by with just a belly band and my reg jeans!
Stretch marks? No new ones ;) had some before I got pregnant.
Sleep: Sleep is good most nights, still trying to get used to only being able to sleep on my sides
Best moment this week: realizing that I am almost halfway there.. BOOM!
Miss Anything? A yummy Shiner or two... or three. and Sushi!!!
Movement: lots more movement this week, starting to feel the baby getting stronger and bigger!!
Food cravings: candy (not chocolate, sweets like Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, Sweet Tarts), Burgers, and spicy food like hot wings/buffalo chicken sandwiches
Anything making you queasy or sick: sometimes still the thought of bacon but other than that nothing really
Have you started to show yet: a little
Gender: still a mystery
Labor Signs: No, goodness I hope not!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: My 20 Week ultrasound this week!

Well that's all I have for now... tune in this weekend when we reveal the gender of our Peanut! :)

The Fur Brothers

Jared and I have two dogs, Rocky is a 4 year old Boston Terrier and Shiner is a 1 year old Beagle.

Rocky when he was a puppy in June 2007

Shiner when he was a puppy in July 2010

They are the closest thing to kids that we have right now and they are more than we need ;). They are so full of energy and just go-go-go... well at least Shiner go-go-goes, Rocky is getting a little more "old man-ish" in his "old" age. He likes to lay outside and bask in the sun, whereas Shiner likes to be in and out and in and out and in and out of the house all day long never sitting still for too long because he might miss something wherever he is not (if he is inside he is missing what Rocky is doing outside, and if he is outside he is missing what Jared and I might be doing inside). He is so nosy and WAY too smart for his own good! ;)

They are pretty inseparable now, Rocky wasn't too sure about Shiner when we first brought him home. The first weekend after we brought Shiner home we took the boys (the dogs) to the lake house, as you can see below Rocky is not too sure about sharing his toy with Shiner...

I captured a video of them playing together that weekend, and this week is the first time I have gone back and watched it. Being over a year later it is funny to see that Shiner still goes at Rocky the same way, as you watch the video watch how Shiner nips at Rocky's back leg like it is a chicken wing. YUP, he still does that to this day! He will just walk up behind him and grab a hold and start tugging. Rocky is super patient with him and just lets him play, Shiner couldn't have asked for a better bigger brother. Here is the video for your viewing pleasure. (Sorry about the yapping noise, Shiner had a pretty squeaky voice. and YES his is as big as Jared's sandal in the video HAHAHA!!)

They really bonded that weekend and became best friends, I even got a few pictures of them snuggling one afternoon after a long day of playing at the lake. They are just soo cute!

They are such goobers and they keep Jared and I on our toes most days, wondering what silly/funny thing they are going to do next. Here are some pictures of them from the last year and a video.
It doesn't really matter if we buy two toys, one for each of them because Shiner ends up with both of them.

Rocky LOVES snow and last year was Shiner's first experience with it. Rocky will roll around and dig his head into the snow, it makes him a wild man. This video shows Rocky all excited trying to get Shiner to play with him in the snow. Shiner is not too sure about it (sorry about the video quality it was taken from a phone)...

They really love swimming, we have a kiddie pool we bring out for them and they love running through it and then running circles around the backyard.

They love swimming at the lake even more than swimming in the kiddie pool. Now when they see us packing a bag and grabbing the fishing poles they get excited and dance around the front door. Jared will ask "Want to go to Oklahoma?" or "Ready to go to the lake house?" and they will start whining and talking until you open the door and let them go out to the truck.

All for one and one for all

My brother and my friend

What fun we have

The time we share

Brothers 'til the end.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Wow so I have been REALLY bad about keeping up to date on my blog so lets see if I can catch you up and stay up to date ;) (Warning: this post might be a little long and have a lot of links to different things). Haha guess at this point I should change my header picture and it should say something like "A story about a girl, her husband and two dogs" now. So Jared and I got another dog (a Beagle named Shiner)
Here he is as a puppy helping me pre-wash the dishes ;). Below is a more recent one of him and Rocky, they are teaching me patience for when we have children especially if we have boys!! They pester each other just like kids like to do, and Shiner likes to bug Rocky just like a little brother!

Jared and I got engaged July 2010, it was a really hot day, we cooked out by the lake and after dinner Jared asked me to dance with him while we were dancing to Wade Bowen "Who I Am" he knelt down and asked me to marry him ;) (awww)! Here is my engagement ring...

Then we were married in April 2011 (April 9th to be exact). Here is our Save The Date.

Here is my full ring set (Jared designed the ring), it was kept a secret from me until the day of the wedding.
Want to see something pretty sad? haha well actually it is pretty amusing... my ring can almost fit inside of Jared's ring (shouldn't be a surprise to those of you that know him, his ring is a size 15!!! and he has a Cowboy's blue ring around the middle of his band). See....

Mom and my sisters and I spent a few months before the wedding, prepping for the wedding. I didn't want the wedding to cost a lot of money and I wanted it to feel very warm and friendly (we had a very casual environment and wanted everything else to be as casual). So we hand made a lot of items for the wedding. Mom did a really good job of blogging about everything we did. If you want to check out the items we made here are a few posts from her blog...
